Luxury Garage Sale Comes to Michigan

Last week I had the pleasure of attending Luxury Garage Sale’s pop up shop celebration in Birmingham with a handful of other Metro Detroit bloggers and influencers!

Luxury Garage Sale is a Chicago-based white-glove luxury consignment service featuring designer and high-end contemporary brands. They’re hosting their first Michigan pop up until May 30th in Birmingham located at 361 E. Maple Road. To kick things off, LGS hosted a celebration in their new space that was complete with champagne and a $150 raffle. I feel like I'm the queen of not winning raffles, so I won't be surprised if I get an email saying that I wasn't the lucky winner. I'll still keep my fingers crossed, though.

When I walked into the shop I was in awe of how many pieces they had! It was almost unbelievable to think that people had given their luxury items away to be sold for someone else to purchase - and for such low prices, too! All of the rooms are categorized: there’s an accessory room, a shoe room and then two rooms for clothing.

There were quite a few things that caught my eye. There was a beautiful mixed material Peter Pilotto skirt that looked as if it were personally hand-delivered from Heaven by the Good Lord Himself (it was seriously that gorgeous!), and a mint green velvet Nomia halter dress that would be absolutely perfect for the season. Unfortunately neither of them were in my size, so I had to leave them on the rack.

However, I did come across the most perfect one-size-fits-all item: a humongous black leather Gucci handbag. I love larger purses, so the size of this "RE(BELLE)" satchel is what I admired most; I could fit all my essentials plus some extra things in there if I needed to (like my laptop and planner). The leather was so soft and I loved the gold Gucci symbol on the top. It was glamorous without being too over the top. I tied an Hermès plisse scarf around one of the handles to give the bag a bit more flair. I felt so luxurious holding it!

Liz of With Wonder and Whimsy came up with the idea for us to do an impromptu photo shoot holding our favorite purses from the event. I, of course, held the Gucci bag, and Liz grabbed a red-orange Celine one that complemented her outfit perfectly! Her hubby did a great job snapping our photos and Liz was kind enough to take some outfit pictures for me, too! I love having blogger friends who just get it, ya know?

Overall, I enjoyed myself at the event and I'm happy that I was invited to attend. If you're someone that likes high-end fashion but you don't want to break the bank, I definitely recommend checking out LGS. There's so many items to choose from both in-store and online; you might not even know where to begin. If you're able to make it out to the pop-up, take some photos and post them on social using the hashtags #LGSBirmingham and #LGSpopup. I'd love to see what your favorite pieces are!
