Wood You Look at the Time? (How to Style Your JORD Watch This Spring)

I have recently developed a love for watches and I know that I'm going to be wearing my "Cassia" JORD watch all spring! This wooden watch (yes, wooden!) has already become a staple in my wardrobe over such a short period of time.

When I received my watch in the mail, I was impressed by the beauty of the packaging. The box that the watch came in is of a wooden chestnut finish, and when I opened it up, I could've sworn I heard angels singing.  My favorite thing about this watch is how classic it looks. I've really been into minimalist jewelry, so this timepiece is perfect for me; I can see myself wearing it for years to come.

Rose gold is my jam right now, so when I saw that the "Cassia" came in four different color-ways, with one of them being 'Walnut & Vintage Rose,' I beamed with excitement! The walnut finish is such a wonderful complement to the pops of rose in the watch; it gives the piece a touch of subtle glam. The Roman numeral dial is a nice feature, too. It makes me feel more sophisticated!

And as if this watch wasn't perfect enough, JORD gives customers the option to get engraving on their watches and on the watch boxes. I chose to get the back of my watch engraved with the quote, "Bloom where you are planted." This saying means a lot to me because it reminds me that I am where I am supposed to be in this moment, and that what is for me will come to me at the right time. So often, I think we look at time negatively. We are always trying to hurry to get things done instantly, and in that process, we forget to take a second to step back and really appreciate our personal journeys. This may sound odd, but instead of helping me keep track of time, this new watch is teaching me how to make the most out of every second.

With warmer weather finally starting to break through, I can really show off some great looks. And every fashionista knows that the key to making your outfit complete is to add accessories! I'm going to show you guys three ways that I'm wearing my JORD watch this season, and most importantly, how you can get one, too!

1. Make a winter piece work in the spring.

I got this gold velvet blazer from LOFT back in February, and I absolutely love it. I'm a sucker for anything gold, really, but when I tried this on and saw that it was on sale, I basically ran to the checkout. I haven't gotten the chance to give this blazer any play, so I'm not going to store it away with the rest of my winter clothes; I'm going to make it work throughout the spring! Obviously you can dress this blazer up, easily, but I decided to tone it down by wearing it with distressed jeans, a cream pleated top, and mustard yellow heels. I accented my look with my "Cassia" watch and a fun bracelet stacked underneath it. The soft colors of the watch added a nice contrast to the brightness of the blazer. I'd definitely wear this again to go out with my girls!

2. Brighten up the room

I've been told that orange is my color, so I'm going to start incorporating more of it into my wardrobe. Dramatic sleeves are very on trend right now, and I must admit, I love that they are! I ordered this amazing top for only $13 on LOFT's website. It fits like a glove. I like to tuck in my shirts to show off a little of my shape. I didn't want to wear a traditional pair of skinnys, so I wore my boyfriend jeans from Madewell instead. Since the jeans are relaxed, I spruced them up with these mules that I've had for years but have never worn, lol. I wanted to keep this look casual, so I decided to only accessorize with my watch and some tiny studs. I think this outfit is in the running to become my go-to for springtime date nights!

3. Mix the old with the new

I was a thrift shop queen a few years ago. I don't go nearly as much anymore, but I do still have a few pieces in my closet that I scored at Value World. This blush top has gotten me through a few job interviews, work days, undergraduate classes...you name it! When I think of spring fashion, my mind always goes to blush. It's been the season's "it" shade for a while now, and I doubt it'll go away anytime soon. I love a good matchy-matchy look, so of course I had to wear my blush Franco Sarto flats and JORD watch to let people know that I was thinking pink! Haha.

Now, I know what you're thinking: "Where can I get a JORD watch?!" And you know I've got you covered, as per usual. I'll be doing a giveaway of a $100 e-gift code to use on JORD's website! Click here to fill out the form to enter your name for a chance to win! Only one person can be the winner (sorry, y'all), but EVERYONE that enters will receive 10% off. So really it's a win-win! You have until April 15th to submit your name.
