Since I've been waiting for my new job to officially start, I've been spending a lot of time in front of the television. One of my favorite things to watch as of late is FX's Atlanta, which comes on Tuesdays at 10 p.m.

The show was created, directed and produced by Donald Glover (a.k.a. Childish Gambino). Glover also stars in the show as Earnest "Earn" Marks, a down-on-his-luck, socially-awkward guy trying to manage his cousin's rap career.

In the show, Earn has an on-again, off-again love interest named Vanessa, who is played by actress Zazie Beetz. Since the show started, I've been loving Vanessa's easy-breezy boho style. It's so effortless, and I'm dying to know where some of her pieces are from! (Sidenote: Her twist-outs on the show are bomb! Shout out to all the curly girls out there.)

On Episode 6, Van was scheduled to take a drug test at work, but things didn't go as planned. During the latter part of the episode she wore the cutest little T-shirt and dress combo, and of course I started to wonder if I could pull off the look. What better way to figure that out other than to give it a shot, right?

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a still shot image of the outfit, but you can kinda get a glimpse of it in this video clip.

It turns out that Beetz not only dresses cute on the show, but she also has a really eclectic personal style, too, that I can relate to. She's definitely on my fashion radar now. Check out this highlight Vouge.com wrote on her back in September

If you've been following my posts, you know I'm crazy about Target, lol. I mean, they literally have everything! I found this $6 dress yesterday during one of my random store runs. I didn't really need it, but it was so cheap so I definitely wasn't gonna let it sit there.

I paired a gray t-shirt underneath and then wore black heeled booties with marled gray boot socks. It's chilly out, so I threw an oversized denim jacket on with a few of my gold accessories.

I was nervous about looking too juvenile, but I think I pulled the T-shirt & dress thing off pretty nicely! Next time I wear this dress, I may even try it with a tutleneck to see how that would look.

Have you tried the T-shirt & dress trend? If so, did you like it? Would you wear it again?

Also, check out Atlanta on FX if you haven't already! You won't be disappointed!
