Hi, my name is...

Evann. Yes, Evann. Pronounced like Evan. I'm usually the first & only female Evan(n) that people meet, and some even think that I'm lying when I tell them my name. I'm not. But anyway, that's a different story for a different day.

I just graduated from Michigan State University this past December with degrees in journalism and fashion design. My goal is to create a fashion & lifestyle magazine for women of color that's based right here in Detroit! Unlike a lot of people my age, I'm not necessarily in a rush to pack up and move somewhere new. Not because Detroit is my comfort zone (I've lived here my whole life), but because there are so many major things happening in the city, and I would like to be one of the ones that helps to generate some of the change.

Now, I could go on a rant about gentrification and how Black people that have been here for years are being forced out of their neighborhoods and businesses and how I think that's unfair and that I want to create an outlet for other young, Black creatives like myself, but again...a different story for a different day. I'm gonna take it easy since this is my first official post and all, lol.

I've always loved getting dressed, so I'm excited to share my outfits with you all! I'll be sure to include where I got my pieces, as well as alternatives for the items that I may have had for a while, or for those that may not be available anymore. Even if you're not from the Motor City, I hope that this blog is enjoyable for you anyway. Cheers to new beginnings, y'all! This is gonna be a fun ride.
