My New Favorite Moisturizer
My skin is very dry naturally. If I don't put on moisturizer right after I wash my face, my skin gets so tight and flaky. It's awful! For a while, I swore by Bioré's Charcoal Face Wash and Ponds Dry Skin Face Cream. I had no idea what ingredients were in the products I was using, but they seemed like they were working, so I didn't bother to even read the label on the back.
I had been getting invites to product preview events at Mills Pharmacy + Apothecary, but I was never able to make it due to my schedule. Finally, I had a free weekend earlier this summer and I took a drive to go and check them out. I had been thinking about exploring more natural options for skincare, and when I looked on their website it seemed like a good place for me to start looking. They had SO many natural products for basically every part of your body, and my interest was definitely piqued. While browsing around the store, I saw the Green Hemp Face Oil by Kenna Nicole, and asked the associate what she thought about it. The associate had several good things to say about the oil, with the most intriguing one being that her acne scars started to clear up once she started using the oil consistently. Coincidentally, I had an obnoxious acne scar right on the middle of my nose that was not budging, and I was willing to try anything, so I went ahead and asked for a sample.
After I got the sample, I got on social to look at Kenna Nicole's Instagram page and noticed I was already following them. They're a Michigan-based brand that uses all-natural ingredients for all of their products. In addition to the face oil, they have a Thyme Balm for your lips, skin and cuticles, and essential oil blend, and two types of candles. All of their products are handmade, so that also made me even more excited to try out the oil.
The next morning, I used the oil after washing my face and fell in love instantly. The oil felt so light on my skin and I really liked the soft scent of it. It was a nice change from the creamy product I had been using before. And I didn't even need to use that much to cover my entire face and neck! It took me about a week and a half to get through the small sample tube. Once that ran out, I went back to Mills and bought the full-size bottle for $28. I was obsessed!
After a few weeks of consistent use, I noticed that the pesky scar on my nose was beginning to fade. It was almost like it was never even there to begin with. I was in awe! And as if that wasn't enough to make the oil a staple in my beauty routine, I didn't have to Google any of the ingredients to see what the heck they were!
I've been using the oil for about two months now, and I've been so pleased with how clear, glowy and moisturized my skin has been looking. I've only worn foundation one time this summer! If you're looking for a natural moisturizer to check out, I recommend going to Mills and getting a sample of the Hemp Oil to see if it works for you!
