Indigo & Jade Review

Skincare is important, especially in the winter months. I have pretty dry skin, so I am always on the lookout for different cosmetics that will help to lock the moisture in. I recently received some products from Detroit-based company Indigo & Jade to try out, and I loved them!

Indigo & Jade uses natural, handmade products to promote positive energy and healthy skin. After I used each product, my skin felt so soft, smooth and moisturized. And the best part about all of them is that I knew exactly what they were made out of. That's one of the major benefits about using natural things! You can eliminate asking, "Is this good for my skin?"

I tested out the Coco-Va, Luminescent Turmeric & Honey Exfoliant, Body Dew in the "Sandalwood" scent, and the Body Libation in the "Navy" scent. Below are my reviews on each of the products!

Coco-Va: I like to consider myself a cocoa and shea butter princess, so I of course instantly loved this! Not only did it smell amazing, but the thickness of the butter let me know that I was getting the moisture that my skin needed. I like that this came with a little spatula to help me get the product out of the container. I really hate getting stuff all over my hands and under my nails, so the spatula honestly was like a dream come true, lol. I used this all over after I got out of the shower. When I woke up in the morning, my skin still felt (and smelled) as good as it did when I first applied the Coco-Va.

Luminescent Turmeric & Honey Exfoliant: Exfoliating is a major key. I like to do it about once or twice a week to get all the dry and dead skin off of my body. What I liked about this exfoliant is that I truly felt lighter after I used it (not to mention this also came with a little spoon). It felt like a weight had been lifted from my entire body! I was unaware of how beneficial turmeric is to the skin before using this product. It has anti-inflammatory properties, making it a good treatment for eczema and scars. Because turmeric is naturally very yellow, it has the ability to temporarily stain. Michelle, the owner of Indigo & Jade, let me know beforehand to use a dark towel for drying. I ended up having to scrub the tub after my shower because of the turmeric, so keep that in mind if you decide to use it!

Body Dew in "Sandalwood": If you're into body oils, then this is definitely a product you'll want to try out. The Body Dew is an oil that can be used as a lotion alternative. I usually stick to lotions or shea butter, but this was a really nice switch up. The sandalwood smelled so wonderful, and just like with the Coco-Va, my skin felt quenched for a long time. I also didn't feel too oily when using this, which is something that I've experienced when using other oil-based products. I'm looking forward to using this again.

Body Libations in "Navy" (link is to a different scent): The body libation is another oil-based product. I think out of all the products I tried, this one had my favorite scent. I wish I were better at describing how things smelled, but just trust me when I say this smelled great, lol. I believe this one is supposed to used as more of a refresher, but it smelled so good, I just ended up putting it on my entire body. It can also be used as a massage oil! I like to convince my boyfriend to give me back rubs every once in a while, so I think next time I do I'll have him use this, haha.

Overall, I had good experiences with all of the Indigo & Jade products that I tried. My skin felt wonderful, and everything had lasting effects. Michelle was very kind and passionate about her brand. I enjoyed meeting her and learning more about her business and her mission to educate people on the importance & benefits of using natural products. It's safe to say that I'm a new customer! I can't wait to see what she'll be whipping up next!
